Practice “slow travel”. For or against ?

Le slow travel, is the art of traveling by taking his time. There is first the pleasure of stopping, to immerse themselves in a place, but also time to exchange, to listen and meet the locals. No need to escape at the end of the world to experience moments authentic. You can enter into relations with the citizens of the world through Greeters, and even freeze time between sessions shopping !The evidence here : my tips for keep memories of her travels. But then. The essence of “slow travel” the trip comes as such. The problem is that we do not necessarily have the time to focus on the train to plane, the bike to the car. Especially since the quota of leave is not unlimited ! In Praise of Slowness is a stylistic little customary way we consume the trip. So I'm curious to know your opinion !

Are you for or against the practice of “slow travel” ?

Is what you revered to travel like you're transported to another era ? Even if it puts 15 days to a Paris – Moscow. . In any case the “slow tavel” this is for the sores.

Wednesday I'll see a film about two young women who made Paris-Moscow stop . This makes me dream , although I'd rather go with my own car .
But I travel mostly by air , although I like to stay long in one place so you have time to make the most , discover little things , make friends , forge friendships …

When I was younger , I was organizing my travels with one goal : see most things in my time was given .
With age , I take more time , I see perhaps fewer things , but it's nice .

Coucou Thiphaine, thank you for your comment. What is the name of this film ? That sounds like me going to see .

Hello Franck, thank you for your comment.
I see what you mean , I start to want to curb city trips in favor of a longer travel .
But not over 15 days. :)

I had planned a trip to Bolivia for a contest like that Backpacker, with lots of road transport (to make it greener)… and the adventure would have been fantastic ! By cons, also much longer :/

  6. Lucie says:

For of course. I am toying with the idea of walking through a country, just walking. But which country? Canada?

  7. I'm more the type to walk fast to get to my goal faster, and able to enjoy a maximum. I think for the trip I am like :)
However, I arrived with my friend, to take our time on our itinerary, but the trip was like that from the start… We thought : good, was a big week for a bit of Alsace and the Vosges a few, should at least make those corners so you can then take our time.
Let's say we did not “dragged” on the road, but during each stage :)

  8. Ben's on a le temps, or any time you want, it's great on slow travel. For cons indeed when you do that 2 weeks, it is difficult to afford… So finally the slow travel is not in line with our lifestyles but only with our desires…

Hello, thank you for your comment. You are right. Therein lies the rub.
At the same time I also includes the views of those who love to take time on the path of their journey.
It's a nice idea. It is nevertheless the practice of taking up the time of the meeting and observation.
I just found your blog by occasionally spent on your trip to Sri Lanka. I hop fan !

Oh oui!! I'd love to be able to go at a slow pace, enjoy every meter traveled, met each passing…
J'ai a truck, and starting with, this is what I would have liked to. Stop early in the afternoon, enjoy visiting the place where I came… But the holidays are not extendable, and sometimes it's a shame…

I find it hard to enjoy the moment, I'm always one step ahead. Lying on a beach I already think about dinner tonight. I believe that good therapy pro-slow travel for me would be a Trans-Siberian. Nothing finer than taking his time but not easy !

  15. khlauda says:

Cuckoo, thank you for your comment. It is like ! Even when I feel like walking slowly I find myself always in the forefront. We will say that it is invigorating to the circulation :) It must have been the Vosges barrel !! This summer I will explore Roussillon in Provence with my boyfriend. They say it is very similar to Colorado. The miles in less ^ _ ^

My boyfriend is more slow-travel, I'm trying everything I see, Finally, what I really want to see, not in a hurry.
As a, Now when we go, For example there is some time in Budapest 4 jours, the 3 first few days I plan everything, visits not the precise huh Heureus, but today we do this this and this, I gather in the same neighborhood. Therefore, like that for 3 jours, and this is the last day you walk witdaysknowing where you're going, we take the time to ask on a terrace and watch the world go by .. A good way to discover historical monuments / attractions of the city, and also a good way to impreigner city, their way of life …
    xx

Amélie thank you for your comment. This is a super good idea to allow time to lose at least one day during the stay. It stores the best travel and soak up the ambient. Where you plan to put your luggage for your next vacation ?
